PhD Scholarships for International Students at the University of Zurich, fully financed in 2022/2023

The Zurich Graduate School of Economics at the University of Zurich is awarding up to three PhD scholarships to excellent university graduates. Successful candidates will receive full scholarships, which will cover all living expenses as well as all fees.

University of Zurich is the only institution that qualifies for this scholarship. Scholarships are available to graduates from all over the world, and they are awarded on the basis of exceptional academic merit. They are renewable if course work is completed satisfactorily. Students may be given preference, butWhile students whose research objectives involve themes of interest to the UBS International Center of Economics in Society may be given priority, applications from all fields are encouraged.

SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTION

The University of Zurich UBS Center Scholarships are full scholarships offered each year to excellent university graduates to enable them to pursue PhD studies at the Zurich Graduate School of Economics, which is run by the University of Zurich’s Department of Economics. The UBS Center will also create extra PhD opportunities for bright young researchers outside of the scholarship scheme by funding new endowed chairs at the Department of Economics. This will ensure that the Zurich Graduate School of Economics attracts a critical mass of outstanding young talent, allowing it to establish itself as a prominent worldwide graduate school with a stimulating research environment.

NOTE THAT:

To be considered for a UBS Center Scholarship, you must first be admitted to the Zurich Graduate School of Economics.

The UBS Center Scholarships are full scholarships that cover all fees and living expenses. Scholarship recipients have the freedom to choose their supervisor and are not required to do anything other than complete their course work and obtain their PhD. However, we urge students to participate in departmental teaching because it is in their best interests for them to learn how to teach.

The number of awardees is three.

The UBS Center Scholarships cover all tuition fees as well as living expenses (about CHF 42’500 per year).

Scholarships are granted for a four-year term to award recipients who complete their course work satisfactorily.
